I've always used a small brush for key bushing. I tried the 
popsicle stick once, but it was so slow, awkward, and 
uncontrollable that I gave up on it pretty quickly. Stick 
challenged, I suppose.

Can you elaborate on the brush you use--width/length/bristle length/bristle
material/etc?
