Hi, I'd like to take this question a bit farther. When I came here in 1998, there had been a set of bass strings here for an S&S D for years. I don't know how many years, but my predecessor spoke of in the twenties when he showed them to me. They are in a cabinet, still in their original box. coiled, except for two strings, which were used as replacements at some time over the years. They still look like new. I wouldn't mind replacing the bass strings on an old D in our band room. Would you chance using this set? Are they still good enough for replacements? Thanks, Jeff On May 12, 2006, at 7:16 AM, A440A at aol.com wrote: > My suggestion is to simply put the strings in a straight, > airtight, > container and don't worry about it. > Regards, > > > > Ed Foote RPT > http://www.uk-piano.org/edfoote/index.html > www.uk-piano.org/edfoote/well_tempered_piano.html > >
