Hi Alan, I find that the hardwood stays together very well. I just did a set of keys for a Yamaha C7 and I didn't have any problems. The only time wood seems to come off of key buttons is when there is soft wood (such as basswood) and there's not enough steam/DIF/your favorite solvent.
