As a rule all the grand piano moves at OSU are done by outside movers. Occasionally I'll move a small grand (under 6') if I have someone to set the dolly and someone else there to help lift. I will not move a piano up and down stairs or between buildings. When everything goes as planned piano moving is pretty simple, but things can get ugly fast. I think moving seven pianos at once is a little too much to ask of your techs. Especially if it's not something they normally do. Accidents happen when people get tired. Pianos can do a real number on a hand or a foot - falling pianos crush bones rather than just breaking them. Last spring a piano fell on a janitors foot at a middle school that I service occasionally, broke it in 27 places. And it's not uncommon to pull a muscle in your back when lifting something that heavy. I think that the administration should shop around for another piano moving company or maybe call a furniture moving company, sometimes they will also move pianos. If I was asked to move seven pianos because the administration was too cheap to hire a professional I'd probably do it, but I would also start looking for another job.
