Michelle- Generally Pianotek sells a high quality glue. I don't pretend to be an expect on the stuff, but there is a variation of fat content. Overall, the lighter the color the leaner and higher quality it is. I have some old dark colored stuff I avoid using, but keep around anyway. You can also tell by the smell. The good stuff doesn't smell so bad. In the end you should be able to make it work, but maybe it was a bad batch. Dennis Johnson St. Olaf College
