[CAUT] in praise of impact hammers

My Reyburn impact hammer arrived 2 days ago.

So far I've tried it on my girlfriend's wretched Cable console with rock
hard tuning pins, taking about 2 hours to get a fair tuning. Short tests
on Yamaha and Kawai verticals with reasonable pin torque were easier.

Dean says it will take a while to get used to impact tuning. He gave a demo
class in Kansas City, and spoke well of the various models available,
though his is the most sophisticated.

A fellow in England is selling all his piano tools after realizing they
were not an instant fix to his income problems. He says he'll sell his
Reyburn hammer for $100.
