In the years since then the little glides from the factory have broken and I've replaced them with substantial glides. These work pretty well and are strong enough that they should last probably as long as the pianos. =20 =20 dave =20 David M. Let me put it this way, I'd rather chain the pianos than confront the perpetrators.=20 =20 What do you mean w/o wheels? On blocks or something? =20 Jim =20 -----Original Message----- From: caut-bounces@ptg.org [mailto:caut-bounces@ptg.org] On Behalf Of Porritt, David Sent: Thursday, January 27, 2005 12:45 PM To: College and University Technicians Subject: RE: [CAUT] Stands. slightly OT =20 Jim: =20 You must have some seriously strengthy women there! =20 We used to have real problems with practice room pianos wandering around but we stopped that when we got 40 new studio pianos in 1993. We ordered 28 for the practice rooms without wheels. They stay right where they are! =20 dave =20 David M. Seems as though several (6) rather large/strong Tongan students would move them into a rehearsal hall so they could practice together. Thing is, they were women.=20 =20 Jim Busby BYU =20 -----Original Message----- From: caut-bounces@ptg.org [mailto:caut-bounces@ptg.org] On Behalf Of Porritt, David Sent: Thursday, January 27, 2005 12:18 PM To: College and University Technicians Subject: RE: [CAUT] Stands. slightly OT =20 Several years ago a student music organization donated the labor to chain a music stand in each practice room. They stayed put really quite well. A couple of years ago we bought Jansen Petite artist benches for all of our grand piano practice rooms and I've chained each of those to the pianos. They have all stayed where they are. Chain works! =20 dave =20 ---------------------- multipart/alternative attachment An HTML attachment was scrubbed...
