Right again.  The serial # was just where you said it was!  Built in
1948.

Sorry, I wasn't very clear about that.  Not inside the action 
cavity.  Crawl under the piano and look up.  The serial # on the old 
Baldwins here are on _that_ back of keybed. (belly?)
