[CAUT] A-440 again

Avery,

Last fall, a professor friend of mine from a local university was
complaining to me that their staff technician had decided on his own that
all the pianos needed to be at A-442 because "that's the new standard!"
(It was news to me.)

Anyway, my friend's beef was woodwinds and brass players had difficulty with
it. I suppose it's because they weren't equipped with the right
parts--different sized barrels, bocals, slides, etc. or whatever they do to
make tuning that high easy.

FWIW.
