Yes, that's right! I had forgotten that real art these days is no longer about beauty...just poke somebody in the eye with a multi-colored stick, give it a sufficient amount of gobblety-gook and metaphysical motivation in the artist's statement of purpose, add a big price tag, and some fool is bound to cough up the bucks to park this thing in the playroom next to the custom-built slide patterned after the $29.88 version from Walmart. But hey, look at the bright side. The nanny and house-keeper won't even notice when Jr. smears his Cheez Whiz on the keys!! :-) Otto ----- Original Message ----- From: "Greg Granoff" <gjg2@humboldt.edu> To: "College and University Technicians" <caut@ptg.org> Sent: Wednesday, April 13, 2005 12:35 PM Subject: Re: [CAUT] Re: Chihuli Steinway > Jim, > Even though you've asked for no answer, :-) I think, to be fair to > Steinway, it should be remembered that there is a tradition in their art > case department going back a long way of occasionally allowing contemporary > artists to stamp their personal vision on an individual instrument--one of a > kind type thing.
