John, We have had the same problem here at BYU. In many of the practice rooms we have big eye bolts imbedded in the floor. A chain is wrapped around the back post of the piano and bolted through the eye bolt. The piano doesn't travel. In a related story, I came to work this last Monday morning and found a piano missing from outside our office/shop area. It is a piano that is for sale. Found it on stage in one of the theaters. Who knows why? Anyone have a good method for keeping practice pianos from being moved around the building by students? We have Yamaha LOANER P-22's that the students relocate occasionally, prompting an "all points bulletin" to locate the missing piano.
