[CAUT] Steinway Verticals

At the Recent North Carolina Conference, Kent Webb (Steinway service) in his
"When bad things happen to good pianos" session covered the difficulty of
tuning the treble of the 45" vertical by advising that one apply Protek CLP
to the understring felt. My last bout with a 45 was earlier this week. I
used the CLP and got through it as acceptably well as I expected (which is
not that well!). That particular piano has never given me great trouble
anyway. I was more bothered by the sticky floor I was standing on--from
teenage piano players who spill their drinks in the choir loft piano pit.
