---------------------- multipart/alternative attachment Besides for Mapes, Schaff may be able to reproduce the string for you. If neither of these work, try calling Samick. Sometimes piano manufacturers can provide you with the string. Other times they can direct you to a string maker that will have the necessary info to reproduce the string. Sometimes you can remove neighboring strings, send them in, and have the string maker fill in the missing one. You may have to ask the maker which strings to send in. Make sure you get the good ones back! Maybe this measuring kit Jeff mentioned is good. Unfortunately, I don't have it. Anyway, I avoid trying to measure the conventional way because it seems that I (and many other technicians) don't do the measuring identically. As a result you end up with copper windings too close to either the bridge or agraffe.
