Elizabeth, I would recommend you order the variety pack from Steinway, in BOTH diams: I was called to replace a broken bi-chord agraffe, on an early 80's L just two weeks ago, and arrived with a complete variety of 7/32" agraffes! :>( Two weeks later, when the generic "supply-house" 1/4" agraffes arrived, the holes turned out to be 2mm's higher than the original S & S part! (just try turning that sucker down to match) In any case, I should also ask whether this is a wound-string note, or plain wire? If it's wound, I presume you will unravel the coil in order to thread it through the agraffe(s) and re-use? You may also want to take some splice stock, just in case. btw, this came one out w/o the easy-out, but you never know. best regards, Mark Cramer, Brandon University -----Original Message----- From: caut-bounces@ptg.org [mailto:caut-bounces@ptg.org]On Behalf Of Dale Probst Sent: Thursday, June 10, 2004 8:08 AM To: 'College and University Technicians' Subject: Steinway Aggraffe Dear List, I've got an out of town customer who has called about a broken giraffe on a 1980 Steinway M. Does anyone know what size that might be? I hate to make the drive and show up with the wrong stuff. Thank you, Elizabeth Ward --- Outgoing mail is certified Virus Free.
