Strings riding up (was Tuning stability)

No you don't. I dislike the term "expert" and won't accept being described 
as one. To me, it implies claim to infinite knowledge on the subject, and 
no intention of learning anything further. I'm an independent piano 
technician. That's all. I have no other official qualifications. But I 
still haven't seen or read anything indicating that strings climb pins and 
need tapped back down, other than opinions and mythology. When someone can 
present a sensible explanation of how this is possible, I'm ready to 
listen. Better yet, if they can demonstrate it, I'll attend the class.
