Alan-

    Although I've not done a GH-1, several techs have and report good
results.  My experience rescaling similar short scaled pianos has been very
positive.
    I believe Schaff used to sell a kit for rescaling the GH-1. replacing
the first 4 tenor strings with bi-chords.  That would be the easy way to go.
    However, I'll bet the best results would be gotten using Arledge
strings, in fact you might consider restringing the entire bass with Arledge
bass strings, and of course replacing several tenor strings with wound
bi-chords.  I think it's right to say Arledge has the best scaling programs
and most accurate production available.
    Incidentally, I would also add Wapin if I were doing it...but no doubt
there are a variety of opinions about that!  ;-)  ;-(  ;-)
