Hello all, I notice that no one is recommending using Steinway New York damper felt. I service 2 NY Steinway D's that are a little over 5 years old. I have serviced them since they were new. The damper felt, especially bass trichords failed almost immediately(the felt legs began tearing) S&S said it was because of my muting method.. I would gladly accept this reasoning although I have never had problems before with new Steinways. I was just wondering if anyone else has had a similar experience. Thanks.
