You might want to get a look at /or copy the
voicing pages from the Schimmel technician's manual.

The needling process is rather involved, but enlightening.
[I believe they are using Renner Hammers.] So
how have you been making Renner Hammers mellow? 

You might give Dan Malloy, RPT (Malloy Custom Pianos)

Dan has always been very helpful.

He's been a Schimmel dealer for years,does all the prep
on them. They always sound good to me...He can probably
tell you how he would mellow them out.

I think he says you can mellow them out about 20%

I have 2 customers with the 6'9" Schimmels. One seems
to like that tone, the other, likes a mellower sound.
