from Avery: Ron, How do the ones you post below compare to the EBVT offsets you posted a while ago? Just curious. <snip> Um.... way different? The EBVT offsets I used for years were taken from Bill's earlier attempts at communicating how he tuned. That version had the smallest third placed at 8.5 cents for the G-B third,(C is around 11) with the widest around 17 cents for the B-D# third. There was some out of order thirds that brought up the "sideways well" name. It is a nice-playing temperament with a gradual progression to the sharp keys, but with a quicker drop off back down from the flat keys. Five thirds below 13.7, E right at 13.7, and six above 13.7. In the KV series, A and Eb act kindof like pivot points, staying at the ET range of around 13.7, with 5 thirds above and 5 below. Much more bell-shaped for a more even progression through the circle of fifths. Hope you get a chance to try them!
