Around Nov. 7 I saw a short note that he had been in the hospital,
and I wrote him. After awhile he got back to me and said that he had been
walking home when suddenly he had the feeling he couldn't breathe.
He looked toward his house, two blocks away, and toward the fire
station, in a different direction, and he went to the fire station.

He talked about his lungs being full of very thick stuff. If this
had been last fall, I would be wondering about anthrax, since he
lived in New Jersey.

After he got home from the hospital he said he was very
exhausted, but then he seemed better. I wrote once to see
how he was doing a few days ago -- no answer. No answer.
