Hateful little F DAMPER

I'm not sure this is applicable, but I had a terrible time once with an S&S 
B damper in the tenor, after I replaced a string. I did everything under 
the sun, and it still had a high harmonic ringing. Drove me nuts.

Well, I put a small piece of flat felt in between the two split wedges. 
Cleared up the damping  like anything, and it couldn't be seen once it was 
installed. Actually, the damping was better than the rest of the section, 
which is a problem in itself, but one which I prefer.

I'm not sure if the lowest tenor damper on a D has room for this ... but 
you could try and see.
