Dear List Friends, I had the privilege to attend a one day service seminar sponsored by the Steinway Dealer in Kansas City, Schmitt Music. The technician teaching the class was Eric Shandall, who has been employed by Steinway in the basement in New York City for about a year. In his former life, he was a college technician for 26 years in British Columbia. I just wanted to give a public thanks to Steinway & Sons, Schmitt Music, and of course Eric Shandall. Mr. Shandall did a fabulous job! He taught for 6 hours in the morning, and then again for another 3 hours last night. I think I finally understand the concept of cross-papering hammer flanges now!
