This is a multi-part message in MIME format. ---------------------- multipart/alternative attachment I service a nice August Forster 6'4" that developed a damper lever = squeak. I finally tracked it down to two levers, took them off and = lubed them. This piano has a very unique mechanism. It has a metal rod = like uprights. The dampers are installed with the flanges to the front = with the rod behind them. I'm wondering if anyone knows a way to get = the rod out to lube it without having to take all 67 or so dampers = loose. The rod is mounted on 3 or 4 hinges like uprights. There is a = long wooden rail that the damper flanges are all mounted to. I'm = wondering if the rail can be removed. I didn't find mounting screws = readily. Might they be underneath the keybed? The piano is ok for now, = but I'm thinking ahead. I have sent e mails to their distributor several times requesting a = service manual, but have never received a response. Thanks for any assistance with this. Ray ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Ray T.
