Avery, Recitals are solidly back to back all days both weekends. The number doesn't matter to me beyond a certain point. In both halls a second piano is available if a string breaks or something. I just think of it as keeping three pianos and a harpsichord in perfect tune for two weeks. I don't stress about it or even worry anymore. Overtuning causes instability, wears me out, and the hammers and strings. I give them a solid tuning on friday. If the lowest tenor string has not changed, the tuning as a whole hasn't changed, so even that could be just a touch up. On weekends, I stop in and run down the piano with the double octave test, listen to the unisons and check the pedals, and rarely do anything. If any are string breakers, you should probably be reachable. -Mike Avery Todd wrote: > List, > > Just curious.
