List,

I'm in the process of tuning for a Sunday afternoon concert for
3 of our faculty. Has anyone ever tuned for Roger Sessions'
piece "Sonata No. 3 for Piano Solo"? From what I've heard about
it, it's going to be a real test of my tuning stability! The
pianist is not weak, either! :-) But at least he's very musical.

In addition, David Ashley White's (the Director of our
School of Music) Elegy and Exaltation (for Violin, Cello and
Piano) is on the program.

And as if Sessions isn't enough, Rachmaninoff's Trio No. 2
"Elegiaque," Op. 9 will also be performed.

P.S. I heard that Angela Hewitt is substituting/has substituted
for Horacio Gutierrez somewhere in California. His doctor told
him not to play at all for a week or so.

Horace? Anyone else in California on the list? Just curious.
