I'll add a confession to Avery's Acciental Stupidity thread. Recently I had a grand lyre with very loose glue joints. I knocked it apart, re-glued and squeezed it all back together with two pipe clamps. About two hours later while polishing the pedals I happen to notice the pedal box was glued on backwards. Frantically I tried to pull off the box but the glue was already set. Now what . . . I thinks to myself. I put a hydraulic jack on the pedal box and filled the space with blocks of 4x4's. I started pumping the jack until it felt like whole dang lyre was about to break. Then slowly the spongee glue joints started to move open. The lyre was saved. I'm a senior citizen now so just called it a "senior moment."
