This seems to be a situation where, for once, something is done for its inherent good, rather than for secondary considerations. Good for you, Ron! I've never given a piano recital, just a few cello recitals. I think it does help me to be a better technician, especially for concert work. I hope that some day, as I get older, work will relent a little, and turn to part-time, freeing more resources for growth, performance, artistic endeavors (maybe some print-making), etc. "Retirement" does have a pleasant ring to it, even though I know it'll be part-time. It implies that chronic over-work doesn't need to be a life-sentence. Susan
