mensuration

Tension calculation is "so easy" (for -ALL- strings) with even the simplest
spread sheets including MS Works. I would be glad to post details to this
list if there is interest. Otherwise I can email spread sheets already made
up in MS Works. These should be able to be read in Excell or MS Office.
Also I have spread sheets in Quatro Pro. I would be happy to send these
out, if I can get QP back onto my 540 meg HD. : ( I plan to submit these
in an article to the PTJ on spread sheet calculations of string tensions.
But you saw them here first, and reviewed them for correctness, utility and
etc.

Also there are "new" formulas I have gotten from way back issues of PTJ on
how to comput tension on bass strings. They seem much better than
McFerrin. (for use on computers). Lemme know what you want, I will see
what I can do. --- Richard 'ric' Moody
