Avery, Run the screws up until they just barely protrude from the bottom. Take the new button, hold it firmly against the rail and use the drill to screw the screw down until the button slips out of your fingers, it is tight enough. On S&Ss I drilled a BIG hole in the flange, large enough for the new button. The flange held the button in place and got it going straight. I had a machinist friend cut off a let-off regulator and insert it into a drilled piece of 1/4" hex stock. Fits perfectly in my little powered screw driver. It is not more than 4" long. Perfect.
