Hi Richard: When I was at Baldwin, we then called it the Bass Stop block. It always has to be custom sized. I suppose that is why it is not listed as a standard part by supply houses. Since Grand pianos are shipped on their sides, this action cloth on the Bass stop block may get compressed so that it will require veneer or cardboard shims to relocate the action properly. This procedure sure saves a lot on hammer spacing time and re-alignment of wippens to knuckles, etc. when one corrects the source of a problem instead of just the symptom.
