Inventory software

Hi,

I used Lotus 123R2.3 (DOS) for this purpose.

I had pianos designated as practice room, class room, office, teaching
studio and 2 and performance. Out of service pianos were moved to the
bottom of the list and were not included in a sort.

The designation determined how frequently the piano was tuned.
Performance pianos were tuned only prior to a performance, teaching
studio 2 were piano teaching studios, studio 1 were vocal, string, etc.
and got fewer tunings per year.

When a piano was tuned the date, service and and technician was entered
into appropriate cells and saved to another part of the spread sheet as
a running record of what was done to each piano. The new date
rearranged the spread sheet so that it's piano was placed in the next
tuning due date.

There were some 25 or thirty places for quality, condition, notes,
serial number, inventory number, purchase date and amount, etc., etc.

This is not hard to set up and very easy to maintain, provides data for
year end reports, and can print out work sheets for that week.

I prefer a spread sheet so I can see a number of records at the same
time, data entry is easy and a service picture is easy to see.

If you would like more let me know.
