Renner Hammers

Hi Dave,
I have had good success with a voicing iron that is quite hot, prop
the hammers up with a voicing block, iron from 3 to 9 o'clock with quite
firm down ward pressure.
Deep needle with a single needle low on the shoulder on the low point of
the cup, it will also open the sound quality, as well as brighten the tone.
I know there is little perception of a cup, but I think you will know where
to stab.
Voicing up with needles in this area usually gives quite a tonal
improvment as well as increasing brilliance.
Ironing alone will increase brilliance, but will also increase percussion
or impact noise!
Hope this helps.
Roger
