i am restoring a 5 foot 8 inch Knabe which exhibits hairline cracks on treble section of bridge only. The bridgepins cannot be pulled out even with a good tug. (you may know that the brigdecap is only on the final third of the bridge length, the lower part of the long bridge is solid...). Does anyone have definite experience on longevity of such a restringing job, leaving it as is? The piano is about 74 years old. Thanks.
