That sounds interesting and I'd be curious to see it - if one wanted to get real scientific about steaming - maybe almost like "steam needling", eh?! I can see it now - we'll get to the point where we're able to pinpoint needle only one groove in the hammer, like we do with supertone...(!) I've been having fun this week steaming down some Hamilton uprights (a more perfect candidate for steaming was never created). It seemed like it took probably 8 - 10 seconds on each hammer to really get it down to a reasonable level. More time than I expected (several passes)... Allen Wright, RPT Oberlin Conservatory
