That date doesn't sound very likely. For one, the firm was known as Tchudi & Broadwood until 1795. Eight feet sounds a bit long... Also, I can't see felt hammers fitting under the strings of a 1792 piano - even if it is an English action... But I only work on them - I'm not an organologist... Try Stephen Birkett at <SBIRKETT@envsci.uoguelph.ca> who researches these things. He'll probably elicit all the information he needs to date this piano.
