Caut list, I am in the process of finishing the installation of hammers glued to shanks ordered from Steinway and regulation on one of the university's stage pianos. First, let me say that I am extremely impressed with the materials received and the workmanship performed. The parts are exquisite. One thing caught my attention on the hammer tails though. They are not roughed. However, they seem to be checking just fine. Should I leave alone until evidence of poor checking, or go ahead and use a checkering file as a general guideline? Keith A.
